More counterfeit notes discovered
Another fake $10 note was discovered in a shop at Tavua yesterday. The incident was reported at Tavua Police Station by a 35yr old man after he spent $20 on buying a packet of BH10 and was returned with change which included the fake note. Whilst investigations continue into the matter, this is the 11th report of involving fake note that has been received in the Western Division.
Police are pleading with members of the public to be very cautious whilst trading with money and to verify money notes carefully before receiving them.
Driver charged
The driver of the vehicle that was involved in the serious accident in Kasmir, Lautoka has been charged. It is alleged the driver bumped a 6 year old girl on Tuesday afternoon whilst the student was crossing the road at the rear of a parked bus.
The driver has been charged with one count of Drunk and Drive and the other count of Disobedience of lawful order with his Driving License being suspended for 6 months.
He is expected to be produced in Lautoka Magistrates Court on Thursday February 12.
Dual road fatality cases progress reports
The driver of the vehicle that was involved in the fatal accident at Delaidamanu in Naitasiri over the weekend is still admitted at the hospital. However, the passenger in the vehicle that was also admitted in hospital was discharged yesterday (Wednesday February 11)
Meanwhile five passengers and the driver of the vehicle that was involved in the fatal accident at Wairabetia on Wednesday February 11 are still admitted at Lautoka Hospital.
Investigations continue into both cases continue.
