PNG anti-corruption agency starved of funds – THE JET

The Papua New Guinea government has now cut the budget of the most successful anti-corruption agency in the country’s history to the extent where it gets less money than the police band.

Taskforce Sweep has 350 cases under investigation, having already secured a number of high-profile convictions and international backing for its efforts.

But as a result of making corruption allegations against PNG’s Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, the police anti-money laundering unit is broke.
