Six people have been charged following raids during Phase IV of Operation Sasamaki in the Province of Bua earlier this week.One has been charged with the alleged cultivation of illicit drugs while five have been charged after being found in possession of illicit drugs.
The five who are currently in custody at the Nabouwalu Police Station will be taken to the Labasa Magistrates Court.Meanwhile another suspect was arrested after seeds believed to be marijuana were found in his possession by the Operation team. The raids continue in the Province of Bua as well as other policing divisions.
Police have confirmed that a total of 6,827 plants believed to be marijuana have been seized with 30 people now facing charges for their alleged involvement in the cultivation and trade of illicit drugs.
