Generally fine and sunny weather prevailed over the west this past week although isolated afternoon showers were evident, some with thunder. Monasavu and Penang Mill had a weekly accumulation of 42mm each. The highest 24 hour accumulation was 23mm for Penang Mill on 21st January. A Tropical Cyclone named Niko formed around French Polynesia before heading south into the open waters.
Saturday looks fine while weather is expected to take a hazardous change from Sunday onwards as the SPCZ evolves. For the moment, there is no specific threat to the region.
