The Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs Ratu Inoke Kubuabola has offered the support of his ministry to the Fiji Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong saying they would work closely with them to ensure the much needed investment would be pumped into the country.
A ten-member delegation from Hong Kong with business interests and investments in property development, tourism and agriculture visited Minister Kubuabola today and updated him of their possible investment plans in the country.
Minister Kubuabola believed that a lot of investments could be done in Fiji from Chinese nationals especially those in Hong Kong given that there is already a direct Nadi- Hong Kong flight.
Minister Kubuabola has called on the chamber of commerce to promote Fiji to ensure that more tourists from Hong Kong and mainland China would choose Fiji as their number one destination.
Chamber of Commerce chairman Professor Peter Kam-fong Lui congratulated Minister Kubuabola for being reappointed as Fiji’s Foreign Minister and said that after the State visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping they witnessed an increase in number of Chinese nationals coming to Fiji.
Professor Lui said that they could contribute greatly to Fiji’s tourism industry. He was hopeful that the Fiji and Hong Kong have a great future together.
The delegation headed back to Hong Kong on the 1st of January.
