Cricket Fiji has named an extended 19-member squad in preparation for the 2015 International Cricket Council’s (ICC) East-Asia Pacific (EAP) Under-19 Trophy, to be held in Blenheim, New Zealand, from February 25 to March 3.
The squad will commence an extensive training program next Tuesday, before breaking over the Christmas period and, continuing throughout January. The final 14-man squad to travel to New Zealand will be named on January 26, 2015.
Competing against Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and Samoa, the winner of the tournament will progress automatically to the 2016 U19 World Cup, whilst the runner-up will head to a World Qualifier to fight for additional spots in the main event.
