Members of the Fijian Community residing the UAE city of Al Ain, recently welcomed the arrival of former Fiji & International Capped Sevens Star Waisale Serevi and former England Sevens captain Ben Gollings at the Al Ain Amblers Rugby Club.
The duo were guests to HSBC and have been conducting several coaching clinics for selected school in the Emirates.
Community Elder Vilikesa Laladidi of Vunikodi Village, Udu Point in Macuata, said that Serevi was a fellow Fijian that had everyone proud because of his immense contribution to the development of this high profile sport in Fiji and around the world.
“We are so blessed to have these two sevens stars here to share their knowledge of the game that has brought fame and glory to our country and its peoples, and we want to thank the Al Ain Rugby Club and HSBC for their facilitation”, Mr Laladidi said.
A brief sevusevu was accorded before women provided colorful garlands for the sevens heroes and where Serevi Rugby Academy CEO Eric Sanderson had his first taste of Fijian Kava in the UAE.
The 2014 HSBC Rugby Festival was conceded was of the most highly successful to date.
