Taiwan Medical Team visit Fiji

The first batch of Mobile Medical Team from the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Fiji, providing free medical servies, concluded their 9-day long medical service departed Fiji today with warm friendship established.


 Members of the Team are specialists from Cathy General Hospital, one of most prominent medical centers in Taiwan. During the Team’s visit, they practised at Vunisea Sub-Divisional Hospital and two other medical centers at Kadavu. A total of 448 patients benefited from their serives, 279 in internal medicine, 56 in dentist and 113 in Dermotology.
 
During their visit to Fiji, the Team also paid courtesy call to the Ministry of Health and visited CWM.
 
Madam R Jane Cheng, Representative of Trade Mission of Republic of China (Taiwan), who brought in the medical team commented that medical service is part of strong hold of Taiwan’s achievements. Taiwan would like to share with Fijian friends the basic human rights enjoyed and appreciated by people in Taiwan.
 
The Trade Mission of Republic of China (Taiwan) has been bringing in medical teams to Fiji for free medical services since 2006. The following batch of Taiwan Medical Team is due to arrive in Fiji in early December this year with specialists in pediatrician, bone doctor and Endocrinologist.
