A number of roads will be closed tomorrow morning for Fiji Day Celebrations in Suva. The Ratu Cakobau Road will be closed from the junction opposite the Suva Bowling Club up to the junction off Gladstone road above the Suva Tennis club from 6am and for the entire duration of the ceremonies at Albert Park.
Members of the public are also requested to stay clear of Ratu Cakobau Road and nearby areas due to the use of the new ceremonial guns.
Part of Queen Elizabeth Drive will also be closed from 8am to allow for the military procession to march in to Albert Park. The road will be cordoned off from the junction of Gladstone road near Suvavou House to the Bowling Club from 8am and will open once the procession has entered Albert Park.
Once the ceremonies are completed at Albert Park, the military procession will march through Suva up to the Flea Market which will see the closure of Queen Elizabeth Drive from the Bowling Club and the entire Victoria Parade from 11:30am.
The travelling public is advised to take alternative routes during this time as officers will be redirecting traffic in the capital city tomorrow.
