Very welcome rain accumulations were reported over the west this past week. This rain was associated with a developing low pressure disturbance that passed southwest of Fiji late last week. Accumulations for the week were significant, especially at Monasavu where 265mm was recorded for the week with over 90mm reported on 5th October alone. Ba and Lautoka saw little in the way of useful rain.
Some more rain is expected today and on public holiday Friday 10th of October. Generally fine and dry weather is expected to return over the weekend with just the odd afternoon shower or two. No sign of any significant rain bearing weather systems affecting the west of Fiji at this time.
