Wednesday, 8 October 2014::Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, and Fiji Link, its regional and domestic subsidiary, today reported their September 2014 on-time performance (OTP) results.
Fiji Airways has continued its remarkable turnaround from August, reporting its highest on-time performance in the past years with 89.95% in September, compared to 84.7% in August and 77.3% in July.
Fiji Airways Group Managing Director and CEO Stefan Pichler says the airline team did well to improve on-time performance back to above-industry standards.
“After lower numbers in June and July, our team was committed to improving the OTP beyond our monthly target of 80%. Delays and disruptions cause us just as much frustration as it does to our valued guests. And while many factors affecting OTP will be beyond our control, our operations teams are working hard to limit disruptions as much as possible. We will maintain this focus as we enter the busy last three months of 2014.”
Fiji Link meanwhile continued their above 90% performance this year, with a 94.52% OTP in September, compared to 96.1% in August and 95.0% in July. Mr. Pichler praised the Fiji Link team for their stellar focus on operations in 2014.
The on-time performance for both airlines is available on the Fiji Airways website: http://www.fijiairways.com/about-fiji-airways/on-time-performance/. OTP is a global airline industry benchmark which measures aircraft flight departures as being on time if they depart from the gate within 15 minutes of the airline’s scheduled departure time.
