WAF BULLETIN #3
Most of Fiji remains unchanged with some areas still experiencing tap water shortages.
On Viti Levu
Navua/Deuba continues to be restricted to tap water from 6am to 10pm but is expected to return to normal later next week.
Lami/Delainavesi, Veisari/Togalevu areas are continuing with the alternate delivery of tap and carted water as scheduled.
Water carting also continues to villages and settlements by the Authority outside its reticulation system.
Rural areas and the outer-islands continue to experience water shortages and the Authority is working closely with the Commissioners Western and Central who are delivering free carted water to those areas affected.
On Ovalau
Levuka tap water continues to be restricted to lower areas while water carting is provided on upper levels. Low inflow into reservoirs continues.
On Vanua Levu
Labasa continues as normal, where those customers residing in elevated areas face low water pressure with water carting provided as required.
Savusavu customers continue to receive tap water but only during the daytime to conserve water where yield has been reduced.
Free water carting continues for those living in the rural areas that are experiencing a water shortage. The Authority is working closely with the Commissioner Northern to supply water to those affected in the rural areas.
On Taveuni
Low water pressure continues to affect areas in the north of the island with some water carting required.
In the south water carting continues as the Authority works to install three desalinization plants later this month that should satisfy that area’s water requirements.
With the drought expected to continue in the coming months it is important that you use your water wisely. Please share this message with the community.
