BULLETIN #1

While certain areas in Fiji have begun to feel the effects of the drought most of the country remains unaffected.

On Viti Levu

Navua/Deuba has been restricted to tap water from 6 am to 10 pm but is expected to return to normal early next week.

Lami/Delainavesi, Veisari/Togalevu areas will continue on alternate delivery of tap and carted water as scheduled.

While population centres on Viti Levu mostly continue normal those living in the rural areas and the outer islands are experiencing water shortages.  The Authority is working closely with the Commissioners Western and Central continue to deliver free carted water to those areas affected.

On Ovalau

Levuka tap water is restricted to lower areas while water carting is provided on upper levels.

On Vanua Levu

Labasa continues as normal.

Savusavu customers are receiving tap water only during the daytime to conserve water where yield has been reduced.

On Taveuni

Low water pressure is affecting areas in the north of the island with some water carting required.

In the south water carting continues as the Authority works to install three desalinization plants next month that should satisfy that area’s water requirements.

With the drought expected to continue in the coming months it is important that you use your water wisely.  Please share this message with the community.
