Cricket Fiji will run it’s first independent ‘Train the Trainer’ program at Albert Park tomorrow.
The program, which is designed to teach school teachers, volunteers and community workers about the basics of cricket and running a cricket program, is a part of Cricket Fiji’s long-term sustainability initiative for developing and sustaining a strong cricketing culture across the country.
Cricket Fiji’s Development Manager, Saiasi Fuli, said “as we plan to keep expanding the knowledge of the game and as we try to increase the participation (and) competition numbers, we must also do the same for the knowledge of the coaches and trainers of the sport.”
Already approximately 60 participants are expected at tomorrow’s session.
Fuli also added he hopes to run more programs of a similar nature early in 2015, to accommodate for interested parties in the West, North and Eastern Divisions.
The schedule for tomorrow’s program will be as follows:

9am – Opening
9.30am – Awareness and history of cricket (Inoke Lesuma – General Manager)
