The biggest event in the Fiji Football calendar is finally here, the annual Courts Inter District Championship 2014 more commonly called the Courts IDC Tournaments.
And for the 15th consecutive year, Courts (Fiji) Ltd is the proud sponsors of this prestigious national event loved by soccer fans both locally and abroad.
Speaking at the Pool Draws held at Samabula Courts Mega Store on Saturday 13th, Courts CEO Mr. P.L. Munasinghe made the revelation of this year’s sponsorship being $115,000.00 which is the largest sponsorship of any one Fiji FA event.
“Football fans around the country look forward to the Courts IDC every year due to the unique festival like atmosphere in which this tournament is held and we are extremely pleased to see that this event has garnered its place in the hearts and homes of the people of Fiji which just makes us happier to be sponsoring this event for another 3 years till 2017.”
“Earlier this year, we all watched on TV, the grand spectacle of the Football World Cup held in Brazil. Our distant hopes are that sponsorships of this nature will one day uplift Fiji Football into the Football World Cup arena” said Mr. Munasinghe.
Also launched at the Pool Draws was the Courts IDC TXT & WIN Promotion where any Vodafone user in Fiji could text “COURTS IDC” to 368 and go into the draw to win a fully loaded Chevrolet Colorado worth $85,000.00

Chief Guest to the event Mr. Rajesh Patel urged all participating teams to show fierce but good spirited inter-district rivalry and to showcase quality sportsmanship to the soccer fans in the country.
The Courts IDC will be held from the 8th to 12th October at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.
