Youth Olympic Games Athletes Announced
Individual sports athletes final names have been announced for the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China after the Selection Justification Committee meeting on the 2nd of June. The recommended names were then approved by FASANOC’s Executive Board followed by their Board of Management. The approved athletes are

With the announcement of the selected athletes this opens the 48hour appeal period in which any appeals can be made regarding the selection of the team. Appeals must be delivered in writing to the Suva Apartments Office (down driveway from Fiji Olympic House) at 17 Bau Street, Suva by 5pm on Sunday 8th of June, 2014. Appellants will need to make themselves available for an Appeals Tribunal hearing on Monday 9th June, 2014.
The athletes will be accompanied by Chef de Mission Carl Probert and Matelita Buadromo, Fiji’s Young Ambassador along with 9 team officials. The team will leave for Nanjing on the 11th July for the Opening Ceremony on the 16th.

Commonwealth Games Team Fiji Athletes Announced
The final team list for Glasgow has been announced following approval from FASANOC’s Board of Management meeting last night. This follows a Selection Justification Committee meeting on the 1st of June and approval by FASANOCS Executive Board. The selected athletes are
Athletics – Leslie Copeland, Ratu Banuve Tabakaucoro, Eugene Vollmer and Younis Bese.
Judo – Josateki Naulu.
Shooting – Glenn Kable (Subject to Passport Renewal)
Lawn Bowls, Men – Abdul Kalim, Arun Kumar, Ratish Lal, Daniel Lum On and Samuela Tuikiligana.
Lawn Bowls, Women – Salanieta Gukivuli, Elizabeth Moceiwai, Doreen O’Connor, Radhika Prasad and Litia Tikoisuva.
Swimming – William Clark, Meli Malani, Matelita Buadromo, Tieri Erasito, Caroline Puamau and Cheyenne Rova.
Weightlifting – Manueli Tulo, Seruwaia Malani, Julia Timi and Aplonia Vaivai.

FASANOC is very pleased with the preparations of the Team. Swimming and Weightlifting recently returned from participating in Oceania Championships with the Athletics team preparing for their Oceania Championships at the end of June. The bowlers are this week competing in the Suva Bowling Club Carnival whilst overseas based judoka and shooting athletes are having regular competition in Japan and Australia.
