Cricket Fiji’s newly structured Suva Secondary Schools Competition will commence at Albert Park today, when John Wesley College take on Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, whilst Nasinu Secondary School will play Cathedral Secondary School.
The new competition design will comprise of both boys’, girls’ and mixed under-16 and under-18 age categories, to provide a clear development pathway for students who either show the ability or wish to continue the sport at a higher level.
A massive 19 schools over four categories will partake in the competition that will see two ten-over matches run on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridayafternoons at Albert Park for the remainder of term two.
The pools and categories for the competition are as follows:
U18 Boys
Pool 1: John Wesley College, Marist Brothers’ High School, Nasinu Secondary School
Pool 2: Lelean Memorial School, Dudley High School, Cathedral Secondary School
Pool 3: Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, Mahatma Ghandi Memorial School, Assemblies of God High School
Pool 4: Dudley High School, Gospel High School, Suva Muslim Secondary School
U18 Girls
Pool 1: Adi Cakabau School, Gospel High School, Lelean Memorial School, John Wesley College
Pool 2: Suva Sangam High School, Ballantine Memorial School, DAV Girls’ College, Ratu Sukuna Memorial School
U16 Boys/Mixed
Pool 1: John Wesley College, Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, Lelean Memorial School, Nabua Secondary School, Gospel High School
Pool 2: Nasinu Secondary School, Cathedral Secondary School, Dudley Intermediate School, Lacula Bay Secondary School, Marist Brothers’ High School
U16 Girls
Adi Cakobau School, Ballantine Memorial School, DAV Girls’ College
Play will commence at approximately 3.30pm this afternoon, in the U16 boys’ category.
