Displays get students excited

Primary and secondary school students who visited Fiji National University’s engineering, science and technology exhibition were excited to see the projects on display.

Among those who visited various booths at the University’s Derrick Campus in Samabula was a very excited Milika Senivota from Gospel High School.

“I have never seen anything like this before. This is really exciting,” Senivota said.

She said her classmates visited all the booths and they were briefed about the projects on diplay by the booth attendants.

“I am very much interested in engineering and the displays over here have given me an insight into the area of my interest,” she said.

Another student, Tevita Qoro from Suva Primary school said he wanted to be an electrician, and was at the exhibition to see the electrical school displays.

“I want to know more about electrical enginnering,” he said.

One of the projects that left the students awestruck was a robot created by students of the School of Electrical and Electronics.

Students were amused to see the obstacle-avoiding robot in action.

The exhibition is aimed at showing students the career opportunities available in the fields of engineering, science and technology.
