The driver of the mini bus involved in a fatal accident earlier this week has been charged and produced in court.
Jone Matakula was charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving and three counts of dangerous driving occasioning serious bodily harm.
He appeared at the Sigatoka Magistrates Court yesterday and has been further remanded at the Natabua Corrections until 14/05/14.
In a separate incident three youth under the age of 20 are in police custody for their alleged involvement in a theft of motor vehicle report yesterday.
The three, an 18 year old secondary school student and two 19 year olds are alleged to have stolen the vehicle from Ratu Dovi Road, Nadera between 7 and 10pm.
The owner of the vehicle was attending a religious function when the three allegedly stole the vehicle which was later abandoned at a primary school compound in Samabula.
All suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
Meanwhile we continue to seek assistance in locating a vehicle that was stolen from a construction site early yesterday morning.
FIJI POLICE
