Coffee place has Campus Jumpin

Students and staff on Fiji National University’s Nasinu Campus can now enjoy a delightful range of coffee and pastries at a reasonable price.

This, as the latest attraction on the Campus, aptly titled ‘Jumpin Java’, was opened recently week by the Vice Chancellor, Dr Ganesh Chand.

The new building also houses a bookshop and hair and beauty salon.

A first outlet opened on Derrick Campus in February and there are plans to expand the chain to other Campuses.

FNU UniServices Ancillary Unit special project officer Theresa Koroi said the project catered for the students’ needs.

“We try and come up with projects that accommodate both staff and student needs and we research and see what the students want before we implement it,” Ms Koroi said.

She said the coffee shop staff are young, energetic, trained and willing to learn new things.

“They all come from different backgrounds and ethnicity and together they make a great team.”

Ms Koroi said the team was now looking forward to the next Jumpin Java coffee shop opening on  Pasifika Campus next month.

“The enthusiasm and response to this is overwhelming,” she said.

Opening hours are from 8am-10pm.
