As concerted efforts are carried out to address dengue fever in the country, the Ministry of Health will continue to work with key agencies to reduce statistics.
Tomorrow the Ministry will team up with the Suva City Council, Kinoya youth group, Flour Mills of Fiji and Fiji Correctional Services to embark on a clean-up campaign in various areas across Suva.
The Ministry of Information permanent secretary Sharon Smith Johns said this new development is encouraging and demonstrates how organisations and individuals are taking the dengue fever situation seriously.
“It’s encouraging that those from the private sector and even youth groups are taking the warnings very seriously. This is an activity that we seriously encourage Fijians to take part in,” Ms Johns said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has recorded 3,330 confirmed dengue fever cases.
