Pacific Energy is one of the major sponsors of the 2014 Marist Rugby 7’s that will be held at the National Stadium in Suva on the 7th and 8th of March, and today gave a cheque of $5,000 to the organisers of the upcoming tournament.
The company is also going to be distributing $2,500 worth of fuel vouchers during the 2 days.
The Pacific Energy SWP Ltd CEO Mr Richard Champion said “We are delighted to be a sponsor of the 2014 Marist Rugby 7’s, and to continue our ongoing involvement with this tournament, and we thank the Marist 7’s organisers for this opportunity.
This is the largest Rugby 7’s tournament in Fiji and brings together 64 teams from communities across the country. It’s a great opportunity for 7’s players of all levels to mix and compete against each other, and this tournament is a great contributor to Fiji’s international 7’s success as it showcases talent from around the nation.
“This will be a magnificent spectacle as 7’s rugby almost seems to be a sport that was developed for Fijians, who have a natural flair and talent for the game. Fijians were born to play 7’s rugby! We’re looking forward to seeing all players display their skills and endurance over the 2 days, and it’s going to be exciting to see some of the current stars of Rugby 7’s, as well as those who will emerge as future internationals for Fiji”.
“It’s very important for us to be involved in the Fijian community and it’s through contributions to events such as the Marist 7’s and other events such as Coca Cola Games that we can do that”.
“Pacific Energy is approaching its 4th birthday in Fiji, as it was on May 25th 2010 that the purchase of BP’s fuel business in the region was finalised. In those 4 years we have established a distinctive brand and company image as you can see at our service stations throughout Fiji.
“It’s worth emphasising that Pacific Energy is not a multinational company. We are a Pacific Islands business. Our company logo and branding reflects that, and our shareholders are all Pacific Islanders”.
“All our profits are re-invested in the region to ensure ongoing growth and provision of the best possible services to industry and the community, and to ensure that we conduct our business in a way that is both safe and protects the environment”.
“We have in fact invested over $25 million in the Fijian market in the last 4 years and continue to invest in quality assets and infrastructure as clearly evidenced by the recent opening of our new flagship site at Kinoya.”
“As well as being the largest fuel marketer in the region where we operate, Pacific Energy is also the approved Shell lubricants distributor, with access to the full range of products from the largest lubricants company in the world”.
“We are truly a Pacific Islands company and we are here to stay for the long term. The Pacific is our home”.
