Fiji National University’s Director of the National Training and Productivity Centre, Kamlesh Prakash congratulated students of the Pivot Point Fiji Institute of Hair and Beauty for their perseverance and decision in choosing a field that is a part of the rapid growing health and beauty industry.

“To date 174 students have graduated in both beauty and hair-dressing from the Suva and Lautoka centers, this is indeed a commendable contribution to the industry in Fiji,” said Mr. Prakash.
With professional training being offered by the institute, it is hopeful that the decreasing number of trained beauty therapists will be catered for.
According to Mr. Prakash the job training knowledge is usually gained from friends and family members however, there is a need for quality Spa education and training in order to promote and further the standards and span of this industry.
Students were reminded of their roles as contributors to society in terms of channeling their creativity by further evolving their training skills and grasping more training opportunities in this industry.
Mr Prakash was speaking as chief guest during the 2014 Pivot Point graduation ceremony held at FNU Namaka Campus on Friday, February 7.
