Saiasi Fuli has been appointed as the new Development Manager for Cricket Fiji. Fuli has a long history of sports management on a national scale.
He previously worked with the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Policy Unit – Sports Development. Before that Fuli worked with the Ministry of Finance, serving as a civil servant for a total of 12 years.
He also has a history in rugby making his debut for the national rugby team on June 12, 2004 against Samoa at the National Stadium in Suva.
Addressing the Development Officers, Fuli said he is keen on working with the staff to ensure that the positive growth of the sport. “I believe if we work together we can be able to lift the standards of cricket in the country. We need to work on getting cricket to be on par with the other major sports like rugby, netball and soccer,” he said.
Working as development officer offers Fuli a specialized role, different from his role at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Cricket Fiji General Manager Inoke Lesuma said Fuli brings with him a background in sports development and and will prove to be an asset to the company in terms of developing the sport around the country.
“We are glad to have him on board and know that through his experiences positive changes will be implemented for the benefit of the sport,” Lesuma said.
