Dr. Kamlesh Prasad Sharma of Canberra Australia formally from Korovuto, Nadi along with his good wife presented laptops and school bags to the resident boys at the Arya Baal Ashram, 2 Kula Street Samabula recently.
Dr. Sharma is a prolific writer and has several books to his credit that depict local life style scenarios of his childhood and experiences of the past, coming from the Korovuto farming community.
Dr. Sharma is philanthropist providing assistance to the needy here in Fiji particularly in the area of education.
After being informed of the existence and operations of the Arya Baal Ashram and being impressed with the objective of educating the socially disadvantaged boys, Dr. Sharma showed his keen interest towards providing computers for the use of the Ashram boys to assist in their school preparations.
“One of the things lacking at the Ashram was appropriate level of computer accessibility to the ten boys, eight of whom are at DAV College, Nabua. This assistance apart from being timely will also boost the morale of the boys as they would now be able to do their project work with much of an ease, and will definitely improve their academic performance,” informed ambassador Kamlesh Arya, media officer of the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji.
“The Sabha as the owner of the Ashram is grateful to Dr. and Mrs. Sharma for considering the Ashram worthy of their assistance and donating the much needed computers,” expressed Mr. Arya.
