Fiji Cricket’s Sekove Ravoka is hopeful his experiences at the EAP Quad series in Brisbane will help motivate young players seeking a spot on the national squad.
Ravoka who leaves for Brisbane tomorrow to join the East Asia Pacific Cricket team in Brisbane has said whilst participating in the tournament will be a challenge, the experiences will be fruitful.
“This is the first time I have been selected to EAP. For two years I was in the squad but was not selected to play and this year I hope to make good use of the opportunity.”
“I think it is going to be a challenge, because this is the first time I play in the tournament – so I am hoping to start well,” he said.
Ravoka who hails from Lomanikoro, Rewa says he will use the tournament as a platform for the upcoming MCC tournament at the end of the month.
“I hope to get a lot of exposure at this tournament .At current I am one of the most experienced people in the national side and I hope to be able to pass on some of the experiences to the U19 players that are forcing their way into the national team.”
“Hopefully my experiences will serve as motivation for the U19 and help them work towards the position we used to be in 2003 – back to Division 3.”
