The Criminal Investigations Department is expected to charge another parent for negligence.
Yesterday saw the first case brought before the courts with a few other cases now finalised whereby charges of parental negligence will be laid against the parents of children who have been victims of tragedy.
A number of files which were sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions Office have been returned with sanctioned advice to allow investigators to proceed with charges.
Knowing these tragedies could have easily been avoided with more attention paid on the duty of care as a parent or guardian, is why we will continue to stress the importance of supervision.
When one considers the issue of the safety of our children, they turn to us as adults to ensure that its provided which is why we will continue to focus our attention on parents and guardians as everything begins from home.
