The 54-year-old radio announcer has been charged with one count of dangerous driving and one count of driving whilst having alcohol in excess of the prescribed limit.
He will be produced in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Police say the investigation file will also be forwarded to the DPP’s Office for legal opinion to look into whether more charges will be laid based on the findings of the post mortem examination.
The findings reveal the 26-year-old woman’s death was not directly caused by any injury sustained during the accident.
This will be subject to the DPP’s legal opinion.
The woman was a passenger in the vehicle driven by the radio announcer who allegedly lost control causing it to veer off the road at Gardner Place in Nasese at 1am Saturday.
They were rescued from the vehicle which was partially submerged in water and the woman who was rushed to the CWM Hospital was pronounced dead on arrival
