Nadi side maintained its unbeaten run in the Digicel Cup competition when it defeated Naitasiri 22-15 at Prince Charles Park today.
Nadi last week beat Tailevu 18-13, while Naitasiri won by default over Nadroga.
Led by Kelepi Ketedromo, the jetsetters scored three tries in the second half to lead 19-6 at the break.
Naitasiri came back strongly in the second half and Kolinio Vunaki punished Nadi with three penalties to close the deficit.
Despite the win, Coach Iliesa Tanivula said indiscipline is a major concern.
Nadi winger Iliesa Takubu, Fullback Cyrill Reece, Prop Peceli Gade and hardworking openside flanker Senitiki Cakau were shown the yellow card in the match.
“It’s a warning-a red light for us. It was something we talked about in the week but I guess it does all depend on their individual preparation. For us management, that is something we got to deal with before the next game,” he said.
Tanivula said the injury to some of the experience players in the team was felt but his young players stood up to the test.
Naitasiri head coach Sailosi Naiteqe on the other hand remains optimistic despite the loss saying they will come back strongly in the next game.
“This is a very young squad-this is the first time for 13 of our players to taste the Digicel Cup competition. Our trial will be held after the third round of the competition-so the season is still too early to judge Naitasiri.”
