Denarau, February 2013… Sheraton and Westin Resorts Fiji today announced that the construction of the Denarau Island Convention Centre is on track to finish end of March 2014. A purposely built permanent structure located at Sheraton Fiji Resort and accessed via undercover walkway to the resort’s existing ballroom pre-function area and lobby, Denarau Island Convention Centre will become the largest event space on Denarau, Fiji.
With a capacity of 1200 seated guests Denarau Island Convention Centre will aim to attract larger conventions and exhibitions to Fiji from Australia, New Zealand, USA and Asia. Director of Sales & Marketing Paul Yui says, ‘The key attribute will be having a venue with the capacity to host large local, regional and international gatherings enabling a greater scope of events for Fiji.’
Denarau Island Convention Centre will play host to one of its first big events in May 2014, the Fijian Tourism Expo (FTE). Tourism Fiji will deliver a uniquely Fijian tourism experience for international buyers of tourism products by showcasing all that the tourism industry in Fiji has to offer.
