Nadi, Fiji, 7th November, 2013 – Support is growing for the Fijian Tourism Expo 2014 (FTE), with a significant number of local tourism operators and international buyers signing up for the Event as well as sponsors coming onboard to support the event. The expo website (www.fijitourismexpo.com) went live last Monday; 4 November, with information now available regarding the full program, registration details and sponsorship opportunities.
Gold level sponsors to-date include Marsh Insurance, ATS Pacific & TTF, Pacific Destinationz, Rosie Holidays and Thrifty, as well as the Denarau Marine Association which will host the Welcome cocktail function.
Various Fijian resorts have also registered for the event; including the group of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Radisson Blu, Castaway Island Fiji, Likuliku Lagoon Resort and Malolo Island Resort. Additionally, many boutique resorts, spa operators and tour and transport operators have also signed-up for next year’s inaugural FTE. “We’re truly delighted with interest in the FTE from both the Fijian tourism industry and offshore travel sellers, who are incredibly enthusiastic about a show designed specifically for the Fijian industry,” said Events and MICE Director for Tourism Fiji, Sally Cooper.
“We’re also pleased to announce the banding of local operators in an all-inclusive “win a wedding” prize for the FTE. The weddings market is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing markets in Fiji and the exclusive “win a wedding” competition will go live on social media networks from next week (WC 11 November 2013),” added Ms Cooper.
In conjunction with the expo for tourism operators, there is an option for trade suppliers to showcase their wares at the FTE. Tourism Fiji is encouraging local Fijian suppliers of products such as crafts, food and beverages to participate in the show and it’s also, inviting duty-free retailers and resort industry suppliers to register for the event.
Furthermore, FTE is working with USP Performing Arts and other local traditional and modern talent to build an extensive live performance program that will showcases some of the best local Fijian talent The FTE will be held from 5-8 May 2014 at the Sheraton Convention Centre on Denarau Island.
