(NATADOLA, FIJI) Wednesday 25th March 2015 – InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of LV QIFANG (Claire) as its new Chinese Guest Sales & Services Coordinator. China is increasingly becoming an important source market for InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa.
LV QIFANG’s (Claire) primary focus will be to increase market share from China, build relationships with our key partners as well as assist with Chinese guest experience while at the Resort. Kamal Haer, Area Director of Sales & Marketing said, “we believe that Fiji and our Resort has a lot to offer the Chinese traveller and we are all very excited by the opportunity this market has to present”.
“I am excited to take on this new challenge within the number 1 luxury brand resort in Fiji,” says Ms. Qifang. “This role is a pivotal one and I’m looking forward to driving results in the Chinese market for the resort and continuing my journey here at IHG.” “I am also looking forward to show-casing the natural beauty of Natadola Bay and our iconic Resort to the Chinese guest”.
As of March 14, 2015, nationals of China and Fiji were allowed to enter each other’s country without a visa, as agreed by both governments. We believe that Kamal Haer, Area Director of Sales & Marketing, Fiji & Vanuatu and Hudson Mitchell, Director of Leisure Sales & Marketing were the first Fiji citizens to enter China under the new visa free program in an attempt to further develop the market and strengthen the overall positioning of InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa. They arrived only days after Chinese immigration were advised at Shanghai’s Pudong Airport. As such, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is the first Resort from Fiji to enter the Chinese market and take advantage of visa free travel between both countries.
“We would like to applaud the efforts of Rosie Holidays for the two charter flights from Shangai and as a result of that as well as our efforts in that market, 2015 is turning out to be a great year for guests from that market. The Chinese market is an important one for InterContinental Fiji and we have invested in training and initiatives to secure our position as the #1 resort in Fiji for the more discerning Chinese traveller.” said Mr Mitchell.
InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa overlooks the azure waters of Natadola Beach – voted by CNN as one of the best beaches in the world, and Fiji’s finest beach. Spread across 35 acres of tropical gardens, the resort offers all of the facilities and services expected of luxury international resort.
