The Attorney-General, Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today received the new non-resident Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Fiji, His Excellency Nazar Al-Said.
In welcoming the Omani envoy to Fiji, Minister Sayed-Khaiyum said that the Fijian Government looked forward to developing its bilateral relations with Oman, particularly in the areas of trade and commerce.
His Highness, Nazar Al-Said said that Oman is keen to develop bilateral relations with Fiji especially in areas that would benefit ordinary Fijians. He welcomed the proposal that a Double Taxation agreement with Fiji would open up new opportunities for both countries
The new Ambassador presented his credentials to the President H.E Ratu Epeli Nailatikau yesterday.
This week the Attorney-General also met with the non-resident Israeli Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency Shmuel Ben-Shmuel. Both the Attorney-General and the Israeli Ambassador discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Israel and Fiji particularly in commerce and trade and technical cooperation.
