Fiji arrive in NZ ahead of World Cup Qualifiers starting tomorrow

The Cricket Fiji U19 squad and coaching staff have arrived in Blenheim, New Zealand, ahead of day one of the Pepsi ICC EAP U19 mens trophy event and 2016 U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers.

The team will play against Samoa, Vanuatu and PNG with the Winner being crowned the top U19 side in the East Asia- Pacific region. On top of this, the winner will also gain automatic entry into the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup to play alongside Australia, England, India and others to be held in Bangladesh in 2016.

Game one for Fiji will be a one-day game tomorrow morning against strong cricketing nation Papua New Guinea. Followed by Vanuatu on the 25th of February and Samoa on the 27th. The team who finishes first will be automatically crowned the winner, but will still play the fourth ranked team in a friendly match on the 28th. The second and third placed teams will have a sudden death match also on the 28th, with the winner being crowned both runner-up and gaining a second chance to play other nations later in the year for a spot in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.
